Lilly specialises in European and German competition law, focusing on merger control, cartel investigations and private damages actions.  She has worked on a range of international mandates involving multijurisdictional teams and has been seconded to both the Düsseldorf and London offices. Lilly joined Freshfields' antitrust, competition and trade practice in 2009 and became a senior associate in 2013.

Claire Simpson joins the Legal Service of the EFTA Surveillance Authority

Claire Simpson joins the Legal Service of the EFTA Surveillance Authority, where she will serve as Counsel, Competition and Internal Market.  In this role, Claire acts as senior counsel responsible for the conduct of competition and internal market cases before the EFTA Court/European Court of Justice.  Until recently, Claire was Group Head of Competition Law at Euroclear, where she covered a range of antitrust issues worldwide. She previously practised from Gray’s Inn Tax Chambers, London, following a stint with Judge Cooke in the General Court of the EU.

Until recently, Martina was a VP, Global and European General Counsel Competition at Unilever, leading a team of competition law experts and manages Unilever’s Global Competition Network. Martina was also the Legal Business Partner to the Global Sales Leadership Team. Prior to joining Unilever in Jan 2015, Martina spent 20 years in private practice – including at Howrey, McDermott Will & Emery and Haarmann Hemmelrath – at the latter two, leading the European Antitrust & Competition practices.
